How to Make a Paper Flower Bloom |
This super easy yet spectacular project uses materials you may already have around your home. |
Suggested Materials: |
* 1 x sheet of standard white office paper |
Suggested Instructions: |
Step 1: Take your sheet of white paper and lead pencil and draw the centre of a basic flower in the middle of the page. A circle about 10cm in diameter works well. |
Step 2: Add 8 finger-shaped petals, each about 6cm long. The petals should not touch each other as you will need to cut around them and fold them later. It works better if each petal is about 1cm or more apart (it does not need to be exact). |
Step 3: Decorate your flower with your colouring-in pencils. Perhaps add a smiley face! |
Step 4: Cut out your flower and fold each separate petal into the middle of your flower. |
Step 5: Fill your large shallow plate with water and place your folded paper flower on top of the water in the middle of |
Step 6: Watch in awe as the petals open up one-by-one. |
Step 7: Practice this a few times at home, if necessary. |
Step 8: On the morning of your "Show and Tell", take a pre-prepared, folded flower to school (together with your plate and water) and show the class what you've made! You might even want to make more than one flower, and in different sizes and colours, so you can show your classmates more than once! |
