How to Make a Ladybug Rock Family

This project is fun and easy and uses materials you may already have around your home.

Suggested Materials:

* 3 x smooth round or oval-shaped rocks
* 3 x different coloured paints (suitable for painting rocks)
* Black paint (suitable for painting rocks)
* 3 x pairs wiggly eyes (optional)
* White paint (not needed if you have wiggly eyes)
* Craft glue
* Paintbrush

Suggested Instructions:

Step 1: Wash your rocks thoroughly and let them dry.

Step 2: Paint your 3 rocks all over (each one a different colour) and let them dry. Apply another 1 or 2 coats of paint if needed.

Step 3: Paint the top end of your rocks black on both sides. These are your ladybugs’ heads. Let dry.

Step 4: Paint a thin black line extending from each ladybug’s head all the way down each ladybug’s back.

Step 5: Paint 3 or 4 black dots on each side of each ladybug’s back. Let dry.

Step 6: Glue on your wiggly eyes. Let dry. (If you don’t have wiggly eyes, simply paint 2 white circles on each ladybug’s head. Let dry. Add 2 smaller black circles for eyeballs. Let dry).

Step 7: Take your ladybug rock family to class!
