Prediction Trick |
This magic trick is fun and entertaining and uses minimal materials. |
Suggested Materials: |
* 8 x small objects eg. small toy, crayon, cup, coin, spoon |
Suggested Instructions: |
Step 1: At home, write (or draw) the name of 1 of your 8 objects on your slip of paper and seal it in your envelope. |
Step 2: At school, arrange your 8 different objects on your cloth on a table. Keep your sealed envelope nearby. |
Step 3: Choose 1 volunteer from the class to come forward. Ask them to pick up any 2 items off the table and hold them out to you on the palm of their hands. You select 1 of these items and eliminate it by placing it to the side. (The first key to this trick is that you never eliminate the item you have "predicted" on your piece of paper). |
Step 4: Now you pick up 2 items off the table and ask your volunteer to select 1 item to be eliminated. (The second key to this trick is that you never pick up and offer the item you have "predicted" on your piece of paper). |
Step 5: Keep taking it in turns to eliminate items until there are only 2 items left. At this point, your volunteer will be offering the final 2 items to you. Choose the item that is not your "prediction". Place it to the side. |
Step 6: Now hold up the 1 remaining item. Ask your volunteer to open the sealed envelope and read out what item is written (or drawn) on your slip of paper and show it to the audience. Watch their jaws drop at your amazing "prediction"! |
Step 7: Practice this trick at home before trying it at school. |
