This magic trick is spectacular and fun and uses materials you may already have around your home.
Remember, it's always a good idea to practice at home first!

Suggested Materials:

* 1 x round coin (small, light coins work best for little hands)
* 1 x sheet of paper (slightly thicker paper works best)
* Ruler
* Pencil
* Scissors

Suggested Instructions:

Balancing Coin

Step 1: At home, rule and cut your piece of paper so that it is approximately the same size as a banknote.

Balancing Coin

Step 2: Fold your "banknote" in half from left to right and make a firm crease down the middle.

Balancing Coin

Step 3: Now open your "banknote" slightly and stand it upright on a tabletop. Looking down on it from the top, it should look like the letter "V".

Balancing Coin

Step 4: Take your coin and place it so that the middle of your coin sits on top of the fold line in the middle of your "banknote".

Balancing Coin

Step 5: Now take each end of your "banknote" between your thumbs and your index fingers. You should hold your "banknote" about 1/3 down from the top at each end.

Balancing Coin

Step 6: Carefully pull the sides of your "banknote" back towards you until your "banknote" forms a taught straight line with the coin still balanced on top. Amazing!

Step 7: Practice this trick at home until you feel confident before trying it at school.

Step 8: At school, repeat Step 3 to Step 6.
