Optical Illusion Trick |
This fun and easy magic trick uses materials you may already have around your home. |
Suggested Materials: |
* 1 x piece of standard office paper |
Suggested Instructions: |
Step 1: At home, use your ruler and felt-tip pen to draw 2 straight 10cm lines on your piece of paper. Your lines should be about 3 cm apart and one line should be directly below the other. |
Step 2: Hold your lines up to your "audience" to show that your lines are exactly the same length. |
Step 3: On each end of your top line, draw a basic V-shaped arrow head. |
Step 4: On each end of your bottom line, draw a V-shaped arrow head in reverse. |
Step 5: Show your lines to your "audience" again. Do they still look like they are the same length or does your bottom line now magically look longer than your top line? |
Step 6: Choose a volunteer from your "audience" to measure your lines to prove that both lines are still exactly the same length. What an amazing optical illusion! |
Step 7: At school, repeat Step 1 to Step 6. |
