Sense of Hearing |
What can you tell about things using your Sense of Hearing? This entertaining sensory game is lots of fun and uses materials you may already have around your home. |
Suggested Materials: |
* 5 x everyday items that make contrasting sounds eg. zip on a pencil case, bicycle bell, opening a can of soft drink, winding an alarm clock, pouring water into a cup, opening a packet of potato crisps etc |
Suggested Instructions: |
Step 1: At home, pack your items into your container and keep the lid firmly closed until Step 3 below. |

Step 2: At school, pick 4 children in the class and ask them to face away from you while they listen to the sounds you are about to make. They must not look around until the game is over! |

Step 3: Lift the lid from your container and take out one item. Stand behind the children and use your item to make a sound. |
|
Step 4: After all 4 children have heard the sound, ask them to try to name the item they have just heard through their SENSE OF HEARING |
|
Step 5: Repeat until you have played the sound of all 5 items. |
|
Step 6 (Optional): The child who correctly names the most items first wins. |
